so hot i had to stop!

last friday night, i had a chance to go stay at the garage the whole day.

The term they had was "coding". if a car's plate ends in a certain number( 1 & 2 on mondays, 3 & 4 on tuesdays, etc. mine is 0), they're not allowed to got to the streets frm 7am - 10 am and from 3pm-7pm. I always get rest on fridays and this friday, my seat covers have been changed! :)

In the evening, my lady and i went to a mall, just 9 kms from the house.

On our way, I felt something wrong. When the gas is stepped on, there seemed to be a rough sound. Along the main road where the traffic light is on stop, my idling lowered to zero, so my engine stopped. Little did she know my temperature rose abruptly.

We were really close to the parking lot, my engine stopped again. Then finally, she noticed my temperature. she still managed to start me and we entered the parking lot. My engine stopped again while we were backing up to the parking space (she loves parking me with my back to the wall).

when she opened my hood... tada!!!!!!!! My radiator was open and the cap was just sitting there. good thing, it did not drop during the trip.

If only I could talk, I would tell the master (her dad) that he forgot to put back my radiator cap when he filled it with water that day.

Poor lady, dealed with my overheated engine again. She already knew what to do, didn't ask for any help. Glad she brought a lot of water that night.

If only I could talk, I'd thank my lady for doing a great job and thank her dad for changing my seat covers. :)

April 5-7, 2007 (Holy Week)

It was just a no-traffic week here in Manila. I'm so glad.
I just found it a bit odd humans have to do their own sacrifices during this week. Certainly, there are more unusual things in the province, but here in the city, the only thing I saw were people walking barefoot on the road (talk about the heat of the asphalt road) for a tad 4.4 kilometres! (That's one big church to another)

it's a 15-min ride for me without the traffic. an hour of journey if traffic's heavy.

Saw this guy walking with his kids, one on his shoulder and he's barefoot.

musings and whinings

"TaBY", like a tabby cat, without stripes nor any patterns. Just a simple car.

That's how I describe myself.

They got my name from my license plate. Here in the Philippines, the license plates are something like, ABC-123. Mine's TBY. Now, it got me thinkin', if the owner of this car does the same when naming his car, what would this car be called?

Neat!

Anyway, I am a street car. I don't live in a garage like some lucky cars out there. I used to, but I was evicted. Poor me.

I had a buddy and his name is "Blue". Blue is a 1981 Toyota Corolla car who was originally living in the garage. When I came around 2004, he became the street car. Last year, X arrived and owned the garage, leaving Blue and I on the street.

Blue was given to the Master's brother a couple of months ago. They didn't have a car and they lived in the province, so it was a necessity. Just last week, Master saw Blue always parked at the Port area. He later found out Blue was pawned by his brother's sister-in-law for a measly PhP35,000 (US$ 735). Master got upset. I was too. Now, I miss my friend Blue.

Labor Day

Well, I was driven home last night a bit late. Had to drop Mister to his office before parking to rest.

Oh, I'm a streetcar, not a car resting in a garage. Since a little brother was given to the family last year, I have been parked outside. Poor me.

Here's my trip home. A bit dark. Bear with it, it's just a phone cam. The music I'm playing is "Brimful of Asha" by Fatboy Slim. It was taken along the stretch of Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.

Today is Labor day, by the way. Good thing I haven't encountered some heavy traffic due to them humans blocking the street with their banners and their noise.
Saw this one but i'm glad they haven't occupied the street yet.

Uno

This is my first blog post.

You might be wondering who am I. I am a car.

I am TaBY. A 1991 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX, AT, living in the streets of Quezon City in the Philippines. It says in my registration, er, birth certificate that my color is "light". When did "light" become a color. Such humans. My color is light copper.

My driver is a lady. She calls me TaBY or TaBY baby, hence, my blogger username.

I'll be telling you in this blog some of my adventures. Some pics and vids, probably. It's not as boring as watching a cheese mature or some obssessive McDonald freak.
